Picture Friday - The sculptor's story

Meenakshi Temple, Madurai, South India.

The carving on the stone pillar tells the real tale of a boy who was born in the 16th century and raised in the temple by Meenakshi, the temple goddess.

So beautiful. I visited the Meenakshi Mandir just one and half years ago and I've never forget the amazing darshan I had.
