Time for another shining star.

Meet Mitali Perkins, author of Secret Keeper and most recently “Bamboo People”. She very graciously took the time out of her writing schedule to be interviewed.

Here's what she has to say:

Great interview, ladies! Thanks for bringing it to us, Suma.

Mitali, I love your attitude, and I agree with your comments on rejection. While it's not fun, I sometimes look at it like seasoning, especially if a rejection comes with feedback: add a little of this, take away some of that. Feedback from industry professionals is priceless.

Thanks again! The books sound wonderful, so my to-be-read pile has just grown even more. :) Mitali, I heard you speak at our conference in April (SCBWI WWA). Fun to hear more of your thoughts!

Thanks again, Suma!

What a great interview, Suma! I love how you highlight authors from different backgrounds throught these...

I really liked your questions about advice for authors writing cross-cultural themes and also rejection. Of course, I thought Mitali handled those questions very well, too.

I have read Mitali's "Rickshaw Girl" and loved it -- she used simple, but immediate language to tell that story. I'm going to Mitali's blog now to tell her so :-).

Thanks for sharing her words of advice with us, Suma!
